How to conduct an assessment

Before your first assessment, you will need to register by creating a personal password that you will use later to log in again and retrieve your data. The contributions to the SDG targets of an educational action, strategy or policy are assessed in the following way :

  1. Create a new project or select an already saved project (via the My projects command in the top toolbar).
  2. Conduct the assessment in 3 steps :
    • Selection of a theme or a sub-theme.
      Select the different themes concerned by the project. Their list is accessible by the second command of the second toolbar, i.e. Start evaluation, Resume evaluation, or Selection of themes according to the page where you are. Not all of them will be relevant to your project but all of them are possibilities to be considered.
      If you select a theme relating to Education to Sustainable Development, a list of sub-themes will appear. Select one sub-theme that seems pertinent.
    • Selection of topics.
      After selection of an ESD sub-theme or another theme, a list of topics appears. Each topic includes two situations impacting at least one SDG target, one situation with a positive impact and the other one with a negative impact
      Select among the proposed topics those for which one of these two situations is close to a result of your action, project, strategy or policy.
    • Assessment of relevant topics.
      For each of these topics:
      • click anywhere on the topic line or on the small arrow on the right hand side . Several options and questions will appear below;
      • if several options are proposed, tick those that are relevant;
      • then answer to the 3 questions by selecting the most relevant option in the list that appears;
      • briefly explain your answers in the Description/Justification by the evaluator box (only topics for which a justification is registered can be evaluated);
      • click on Save in the top right corner.
  3. Repeat these three steps to assess all the topics that are relevant to your case. There is no need to assess those topics that are not relevant or that have a neutral impact.
    If there are other clear contributions to the SDG targets than listed in the proposed topics/situations, you can add them in the theme Theme X – Additional topics .
  4. View the impacts on SDG targets sorted by SDG or by theme in graphic and detailed form by clicking on Results by SDG or Results by theme.
  5. You can download the detailed assessment results in a pdf file by clicking on Download PDF report on the Results page.
